Hello! I’m Ellaine and welcome to my travel blog.
I work as a Document Controller full time as an expat in the middle east and travels the world on my free time. I have been extensively traveling since 2010 with over 15 countries visited. Over the years of planning for my holidays, I have gained excellent skills on traveling and I would love to share my experiences and travel expertise through this blog.

My passion for travel and love for food is contagious and I love sharing the destinations I visit in fun and funny blog posts that teach and inspire others to follow their travel dreams!

Living abroad with diversified nationalities for over 7 years has been full of adjustments and traveling has thought me to;

Trust. I have learnt that people are usually helpful, if you are nice to them. Someone being nice is not necessarily thinking of his/her profit.
Tolerance. I have encountered cultures pretty different from mine, and I have realised that being intolerant is the best way to lose out on fun.
Rewards of exploration. I am very adventurous about experiencing new things, even though in most practical aspects I am conservative.
History. I have learnt more about the history of my land by talking to tour guides and locals, and researching tourist spots than my history book ever taught me.
Perspective. I have encountered diametrically opposite world views, and have heard justifications of each. That has taught me that there is probably no absolute right or wrong. It all depends on the perspective.
Enjoy uncertainty. I can’t say travelling has taken me out of my comfort zone much. I was on my first long distance train trip when I was 18 days old. So travelling is my comfort zone. But we always travel without prior hotel reservations and tour plans. So planning on the fly is an important skill I learnt.
Most things are not essential. There are so many things you live behind when you travel regularly. And you realise those stuff really isn’t essential to survival. Or even to happiness.
Adjustment. That’s probably an important lesson. I have lived in three star luxury hotels to cobwebbed roadside hotels with leaking roofs and flaking walls. And looking back, I was probably equally happy at both. Because it was a new experience!
